Our Day at Children's Hospital!!

This morning, when we arrived at Children's we got all signed in and we had to wait. Lizzie Kate climbed in all of the vacant chairs in the waiting room, she jumped, she crawled, she danced, you get the picture. We only waited about 20 minutes, and they called us back to get her vitals and weight, and you guessed it NO weight gain. They took us back to our room and we had to get her in the hospital gown and she got to play while we waited. We saw a few different people. An Anesthesiologist Student came in and asked us some questions about our medical history. Then we saw the Nurse Anethesist that was going to be in the Operating Room and she assured us that she would hold Lizzie Kate if she cried (that made me feel so much better). Our Nurse came in last and she was excellent. She asked us for Lizzie Kate's complete medical history and that took what seemed like forever. After the Nurse left it was only about 10 minutes and they came to get our baby. We walked this long hall and Lizzie Kate reached for the lady that we were walking with. When we got to the OR she went right to the lady. They let her keep her passy and her blankie so she would have it when she woke up. I cried the whole way back to her room. I know that it was harder on me than it was on her. Jeremy was very supportive. I am so thankful that I have such a wonderful husband and my children have the best Daddy in the world. Anyway, Jeremy went to get me some breakfast while we waited on the Doctor. When, Dr. Thame came in he said that everything looked normal but with what he was looking for, we have to wait about a week and a half to two weeks for the results. I also talked to him about some thing called Endochrine (it's a growth hormone). If everything comes back negative then we will see what he wants us to do and we may also be referred to an Endochrine Specialist by our Pediatrician. She got back to the room about 30 minutes after we saw Dr. Thame. She was really fussy and still had her IV in her foot. They told us she had to continue to IV drip until she would drink something. Mrs. Barbra Ash (Lizzie Kate's old Sunday School Teacher) works at Children's and she came by to see her. It was SO sweet of her to come by and check on Lizzie Kate. While she was visiting with us, Chris Howell (the Minister of Adults at CrossPoint) came to see us. We finally got Lizzie Kate to drink about 6 ounces of Apple Juice. After she was able to hold that down, they came and took her IV out and we signed the discharge papers. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Children's Hospital for taking such good care of our baby!!

Lizzie Kate has eaten normal all afternoon. We stopped on the way home and got her a Frosty from Wendy's. She didn't want that she wanted a hamburger and french fries. She has eaten normal all afternoon!! She was a little tired but has been playing her heart out this evening. Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers for our precious baby girl!! We are so blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful people!! We love you all!!
